The body has a language of its own
For nearly a decade, I've worked with people through therapeutic massage. In those years, I've learned something that has shaped the way I see wellness: the body has a language of its own.
Almost four years ago, I opened my own practice with something very simple — my hands, a massage table, a bottle of oil, and the belief that I could build something meaningful. I built it slowly, one day and one person at a time.
And somewhere along the way, my work began asking me to look deeper.
I started noticing that tension wasn't always just tension. Stress, emotion, our experiences, and the nervous system all influence the way we feel in our bodies. I became fascinated by the connection between what happens physically and what may be happening beneath the surface of our conscious awareness. That curiosity eventually led me to hypnotherapy.
Why I added clinical hypnosis to my practice
So much of who we become begins before we ever have the words to explain our experiences. From our earliest years, we're constantly shaped by our relationships, experiences, and environment. As we grow, our critical thinking develops — we learn to question, reason, and consciously choose what we believe.
But beneath everyday awareness, learned associations and automatic responses keep influencing how we think, feel, and behave. That's part of what fascinates me about the subconscious mind.
Sometimes we know exactly what we want to change and still find ourselves returning to familiar patterns. Willpower matters, but real change often comes from getting curious about what's happening beneath the behavior, rather than fighting against it.
I believe people carry more wisdom and possibility within themselves than they realize — our busy, analytical minds can just make it hard to hear what's underneath the noise. Clinical hypnotherapy creates a quieter space to explore those patterns, through focused attention, imagery, and therapeutic suggestion. My role isn't to hand someone all the answers. A guide simply helps you discover what was already there.
Where mind meets body
My connection to this work is personal, too. Through my own experience with therapy, hypnosis, massage, and learning to support my own nervous system, I've felt real shifts in how I understand myself and relate to my own mind and body. Those experiences changed how I wanted to work with others.
There's something meaningful about witnessing that same shift in another person. Someone comes through my door feeling depleted or disconnected, and I get to watch something begin to change — through massage, I've seen someone's expression soften as their body finally gets a chance to relax. Through hypnosis, I've witnessed the moment someone sees themselves, or something they've been struggling with, from an entirely different angle.
Those moments are why I love this work. More than anything, I want the people I work with to feel seen and heard. So many of us move through daily life feeling misunderstood, or never quite seen for who we are — or who we're trying to become. I believe there's something powerful about having another person genuinely listen without judgment and meet you as a whole person. That's the space I try to create, every session.
When we heal, we choose differently.
My work today
My education keeps evolving alongside my practice. I'm certified in yoga, which deepened my appreciation for movement, breath, and body awareness. My fascination with the subconscious mind led me to the Hypnosis Motivation Institute (HMI), where I continue my training in clinical hypnotherapy — with plans to further my studies through HMI's Associate of Occupational Studies program.
Today, my work brings together:
Therapeutic massage — hands-on bodywork for pain relief, relaxation, and nervous-system regulation
Clinical hypnotherapy — one-on-one sessions supporting smoking cessation, confidence, stress, habits, and personal growth
Guided hypnosis audio experiences — for sleep, relaxation, confidence, and personal development, ranging from practical to more reflective and spiritual
As my online offerings grow, I hope to bring in yoga and movement too — another pathway for people to reconnect with themselves through the body.
At the heart of it all is one belief: the mind and body were never meant to heal separately. My work is about listening to the body instead of silencing it, getting curious about our patterns instead of fighting them, and creating space for people to reconnect with the parts of themselves that went quiet along the way.
What began with my hands, a massage table, and a bottle of oil has grown into something I couldn't have imagined when I started. And I'm still learning. Still evolving. Still curious.
Outside of work, I'm a lot less serious than all of this probably makes me sound. I'm naturally goofy, love being silly, and I'm happiest with family and friends, on my yoga mat, or outside surrounded by nature.
Because underneath all the education, techniques, and tools, I believe something very simple: sometimes one of the most powerful things we can offer another person is the experience of truly being seen.
